Our favourite buys from the summer clearance event

Non-essential shops are now open in England as lockdown measures continue to lift, but before you queue up outside stores, don’t miss out on the online sales currently running to help you shop and save simultaneously.

Many retailers are offering summer sales both online and in-store to make up for lost footfall during lockdown. But as shops will only be getting busier as more people venture to the high street, order online instead to save yourself the hassle.

We’ve already got you covered when it comes to the best TV, furniture and beauty deals, but the Next annual summer sale is also full of bargains you won’t want to miss.

The retailer is offering up to 50 per cent off its womenswear, menswear, children, baby and home and furniture lines across Next own-brand products and thousands of its branded lines.

The sale began in its brick and mortar stores from 5am on 2 July and is now running online. Customers with VIP accounts were offered early access to the sale, but the retailer faced criticism as as many shoppers were unable to purchase anything on site when access was granted, despite being in a virtual two-hour queue.

But as the sale is now live and working, it’s time to swap your loungewear for a new summer wardrobe, finally get round to purchasing those bulky interior items or simply treat yourself to something new.

To save you trawling through thousands of deals, we’ve handpicked our favourite finds to pick up now.

You can trust our independent round-ups. We may earn commission from some of the retailers, but we never allow this to influence selections. This revenue helps us to fund journalism across The Independent.
