Dwellings, Owners’ Lifestyles Provide Valuable Natural Resource Lessons
In 2006, Arizona had the fastest growing population in the nation, fueled primarily by people moving from other states.

To meet the demands of this annual growth will require an estimated 80,500 new housing units; 41 million more gallons a day of water (for residential, commercial and industrial usage); and 907 million more kilowatt hours of electricity per year.

It’s vital that new and existing Arizonans understand the interrelationship between our wants and needs as residents, and the state’s economy and environmental sustainability. AFRE plays an important role in helping to further this understanding.
