Overview and Expeditionary Learning
Engage in and explore climate change issues by participating in
classroom activities and visiting selected venues in the Phoenix
area.
June 4, 8:00 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.
Classroom Experiments, Activities, and Selected Readings
Explain and elaborate as you deepen your understanding of the
global climate change phenomenon through a variety of classroom
interactions.
June 5, 8:00 a.m. – 2:30 p.m.
Content Application and Product Development
Evaluate your understanding of climate change by creating an
instructional product that can be used in your classroom.

behind global climate change? How do we know this information is

in this engaging 3-day experience!
Why Should I Attend This Academy?
Leave the workshop better informed about the complex issues
related to climate change, equipped with an instructional product
ready to use with students, and armed with a variety of balanced
and accurate resources to help you and your students address your
roles as environmental stewards.

us in Arizona
- Develop a classroom product for immediate use, under the
mentorship
of academy facilitators with more than 80 years combined
professional experience
- Share quality planning time with your team – and
each member will receive a $300 stipend for participating
How Do We Apply?

Submit one application per team.
- First preference will be given to teams
of educators from the same school. Eligible schools include those
within SRP service regions, Maricopa, Pinal, Yavapai, and Gila
Counties as well as the cities of St. Johns and Page.
- Applications must be received in the AFRE office no
later than March 28, 2008 to be considered.
- Teams will be notified of their acceptance no later than
April 10, 2008.
