Director's Message
It’s often said that our children are our future. At the Arizona Foundation for Resource Education, we believe that teachers are our children’s future.
Teachers bear the daunting responsibility of providing students with the critical knowledge and skills that they will need to become well-informed and responsible citizens, employees and voters.
To help ensure their success, AFRE’s faculty and staff are fully committed to developing K-12 teachers’ effectiveness in the classroom through our unique professional development and renewal opportunities.
In AFRE’s professional development experiences, we work collaboratively with teachers to continuously improve and develop their skills. We strive not only to teach but also to model the best practices in use in our field today so that teacher-participants may experience them as students.
As classroom teachers, we understand that high-quality teaching includes—and goes beyond—the standards-based curriculum and research-based instructional strategies.
Skilled teachers engage students and have the power to transform their lives. They are the catalysts that bring the dawning of understanding as information and interrelationships become clear for the first time.
Please join us in the coming months at one or more of our AZventure or Best Practices events. As educators and lifelong learners, we treasure the opportunity to share this journey with you.
