ADE’s Standards and Rubrics for
School Improvement:
Committing to Systemic and
Sustainable School Improvement
How can our campus or district use the Standards and
Rubrics for School Improvement to improve the overall
quality of our organization and, ultimately, raise student
achievement?
This engaging training is designed to help key district
and/or school personnel understand the intended use of the
Arizona Department of Education’s (ADE’s)
“Standards and Rubrics for School Improvement”
as a powerful tool to assess the strengths and limitations
of their instructional and organizational effectiveness.
You will examine the document’s overall structure
and contents and learn how to use it in conducting a
comprehensive needs assessment. You will also learn how to
use the results of your needs assessment to develop your
school’s comprehensive plan for improvement. Workshop
topics include:
- The keys to creating a culture of continuous improvement
- The value and role of organizational self-assessment
- The need for a shared vocabulary within a campus and/or
district
- Evidence-based evaluation — the importance of data
sources and evidence of achievement
- How the effective use of the “Standards and
Rubrics” document addresses NCLB and AZ LEARNS
accountability requirements
Don’t miss this opportunity to be enlightened about
the “rules of the game” or the very criteria for which
Arizona’s public schools are evaluated.
