The Arizona Foundation for Resource Education is a leader in creating highly skilled K-12 educators who positively impact student achievement in Arizona classrooms, schools and districts.

AFRE provides top-quality, intellectually stimulating and enjoyable professional development opportunities including:

  • Classroom-based natural resource workshops
  • Natural resource expeditionary learning experiences
  • Cutting-edge, best practices workshops
  • Ongoing, on-site teacher support, training and resources

You won’t want to miss the summer 2008 academies!

  • 5 FREE, one-day AZventure workshops that combine natural resource content knowledge and best practices (7 professional development hours each)
  • 3 four-day Best Practices Academies (27 professional development hours each) where you will learn what it takes to create and sustain a higher-performing classroom and campus
  • Apply your new knowledge and skills during the 2008-2009 academic year and earn up to 15 additional professional development hours at no additional cost

Additional opportunities

  • Make It Happen! Teams of summer academy participants will compete to receive support totaling as much as $5,000 per team member during the 2008-2009 academic year
  • June 30 AZventure workshop participants can apply for up to $5,000 in Project Learning Tree GreenWorks! environmental service-learning grants
